These images portray the "gritty" moments I look for when photographing a wedding. These are the "true" moments that occur throughout the wedding day and I take pride in being able to sense when moments like these are about to occur.
When attaining my first degree, in photojournalism, my inspiration came from two specific photographers: Henri Cartier Bresson, and especially, Garry Winogrand, both of whom came from different generations, but captured imagery that showed the decisive moment in the world around them.
These coarse and unrefined moments during a wedding day depicts life as it truly is, without false distortions, stylizations, or idealizations.
These are the moments I strive to photograph at every wedding, which makes each wedding unique.
